A fraction of the cost of the Costas
It is estimated that sun-seekers and shrewd investors alike can buy a villa in Morocco for up to sixty per cent less than the cost of an equivalent property - in terms of size, amenities and location - in the Costa del Sol.
What's more, Moroccan property does not suffer from the over-development issues that can detract from certain areas in Spain.
"Morocco is almost like a blank canvas - mass tourism has yet to make its mark, but we're beginning to see the first brush strokes being put in place," says Paul Norton, Chairman of the respected property development company, The Norton Group.
"The initial impressions are very positive. Morocco has high approvals ratings as a destination and the investment in the area is creating desirability and an air of up-market, exclusivity - something that is lacking in some parts of Spain. It's a case of watch this space," he continues. While you can buy here for significantly less than in Spain, we won't be in the same situation in just a couple of years time. Shrewd investors will make their move now."
