It has been revealed that the prospect of a bleak winter in Britain - after such a poor summer - is enough to tempt people to go abroad this Christmas and Marrakesh has been cited as a more popular destination than ever before.
The travel industry has seen a surge of bookings and reveals that the popularity of Morocco for festive travellers is a surprise, since people usually choose to go to more more established winter sun holiday spots such as Spain and Portugal.
According to Travel and Tourism News, more than 6.5 million foreign nationals holidayed in Morocco last year.
